''The Devil Next Door'' was originally scheduled to air on [[A&E (TV channel)|A&E]] on November 27, 2018. The church hired attorneys to stop the broadcast, and a church spokesman said the reason for the postponement was "some serious ethical problems with paying participants." A&E had cancelled a documentary about the [[Ku Klux Klan]] for similar reasons. In July 2019, "People Magazine Investigates: Word of Faith" aired on the Investigative Discovery cable channel.<ref name=Cain/>
