Participation was purely voluntary as a way for the adult members to express their sexuality and share in extended relationships if desired and agreed upon with one another. In 1980 Allen Michael ran for President of the United States, campaigning on cancellation of money debts and establishing of a system were everything is free and shared by everyone.<ref name=":2"/> Over the years the group slowly decreased in size, moving to several locations before Allen Michael's death when he was 93 years old in 2010.
