===Scottsdale, Arizona invocation challenge===
[[Scottsdale, Arizona|Scottsdale]] City Council denied a 2016 request from the Satanic Temple's Arizona chapter to give an invocation at the Council meeting; denial was based on the grounds that only groups with "substantial connections to the community" are allowed (the pastor of First Southern Baptist Church of Scottsdale was selected instead).
